Gratitude Month - Day 12 - Fire In The Soul

When reflecting this morning over the past year in order to add leaves to my "tree", I was struck by how each day how many names flood my thoughts to add.  I am overwhelmed by those who have touched my life in profound ways over the past year.  I am truly blessed.

Today, I wish to celebrate my students.  Yesterday, we completed a class that began with a simple thought to share a soul connection.  To introduce a few people to the gifts that can be found in the Eternal Flame of the Sacred Fire.  I thought (there is my first problem) it was an exercise in communication alone.

The students in the Fire In The Soul class (Introduction to Fire Shamanism) not only exceeded every expectation that I could have possibly had within the first week or two of the class, in the end they have become my own teachers.  Each one pushing themselves and in turn, pushing me to dive deeper into the spiral. Over the past months, they have emerged as strong, wildly beautiful, and deeply committed women who show up where ever the 'pictures' direct them.

Something absolutely amazing happens when women come together to share.  This group was culturally diverse from different countries, yet the stories shared, the changes and transformations the same, the pain and the joy celebrated.  The path steps experience every emotion from fear to anger, yet with each step the circle reflects back a warmth that allows the spirit to soar in between the worlds to find the authentic self.

As the class comes to an end, I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to stand shoulder to shoulder with each.  I am humbled to have been in a small 'tribe' with these women and truly love each of them.

So to each of you - I celebrate you, I thank you, and I love you.  My advice to each of you, blaze new paths, question everything, trust YOU, and CELEBRATE often.  mwah

The Bridges to Mend the Sacred Hoop – A Collective Message

The Fire Ceremony held on 11/10/11 connected hundreds of people from across the globe.   There were healers, energy workers, Reiki Masters, Shaman, Medicine Wo/men, healing circles, and prayer warriors came from across the globe as well.  Messages to humanity, new waves of energy, and, as has been shared with me, accounts of ‘miraculous’ healing events transpired.  They continue to flow, not simply from a fire, but from fires, channels, and celebrations from every spiritual path.  In essence, the message that I share is the message that has been carried in the winds to all of humanity and is being received by any who are listening to the whispers of the winds.  The translation of the message is still coming through and it is my intention to share them as they do.

The Bridges to Mend the Sacred Hoop – A Collective Message

The Sacred Hoop of humanity is a broken hoop that requires all of our relations to mend.   All are required to gather together as one.  It is a time to change the reality of the world we live in.
The Sacred Hoop needs to be mended; the world does not need to be healed.  The belief that the world herself is broken is to believe that Mother Earth is broken.  It only serves to create the experience of duality in the world.

The sacred hoop that inter connects All Relations has been separated in this experience of duality and must be mended.  There exists a Divine timing for all things, for all people, for all relations.  When one opens to the inner wisdom and actively participates within that wisdom they connect with their own Divine timing.  This begins the mending of the Sacred Hoop.  It is not automatic becomes of some date and time.  Yes, a great shift is happening.  It is a process.  It is not a time or date.

Become actively participating in your soul truths, question deeply what you hear, what you see, and what you feel.  There exists within you now a Divine spark that leads to your destiny to live as a soul being.   The Sacred Hoop did not become broken overnight, the mending will not happen overnight.  It has begun, it is unfolding.  As the duality experience is brought into an illuminated state, we see Mother Earth and the wounds upon her, the scars, that the old paradigm based in fear, anger, and violence have left.  It is paramount that each see the scars, for if we do not see the scars we cannot mend the Sacred Hoop.  For duality to become unification, it must be acknowledged and illuminated.

This time is an opportunity for all relations to pause, acknowledge, and actively participate in the magnification of the duality in order that it be mended and we can become unified souls of humanity.  When we awaken to the knowledge and wisdom that our ancestors share, it is then we can blaze our sparks aligning together as One.  This pulse of energy is birthed and now can grow by nurturing it in living each day.
This is a call to you to open to the reality that the Sacred Hoop includes all.  Includes every thought, every action, every soul that exists.  When allowed to flow, unmitigated by ‘stories’ of duality, brings with it soul truth.  Life is to be celebrated in a loving and peaceful way.

This birth means that some must let go of old ‘stories’, old beliefs, old ways that exist only in the experience of duality.  It means that you must allow the transformation of your own ideas of what your identity as a soul is to find your authentic self.  It may be painful.  It may take you to the heart of every belief you have built your foundation upon.  But it is time to move beyond the existence of being separated.  It is time to recognize yourself that these old beliefs are simply impeding your ability to experience the gift of being.  Of being as one.  Of being a part of the Sacred Hoop.

The Sacred Hoop of all our relations cannot be mended when it is not experienced; as without experiencing it one does not recognize that it exists.  Trust in the truth’s your soul reveals to you.  Trust that the gap you currently feel in existence can be bridged.  Trust in the moment that you inhale and feel alive.  This happens the moment you stop fighting within yourself.  Stop resisting the letting go and allow.  This resistance is only re-creating duality in your existence.

The bridge now exists extending to the gathering of all people and the mending of Sacred Hoop has begun.   To complete, all are needed to stand shoulder to shoulder, working together in harmony, and experiencing truth based in unified love.

As we cross the bridge, expand our communities to include All in the Sacred Hoop, it is vital to remember that this is only a beginning.   A beginning that begins with one soul uniting with another to illuminate duality for another.

Gratitude Month - Day 11 - A Fire Ignites

It began with a simple "picture".  Nothing truly awe inspiring.  A picture of a fire beneath a full moon.  It is nothing new and eventful - A full moon Shakti fire is a tradition of sorts.  So what was so different about this picture.  There was a a few days that I saw the "picture" and dismissed it.  Why?

The images around the fire.  I saw a fire that had hundreds of souls standing in unison in a single breath.  There was an inner circle of men and women standing shoulder to shoulder, yet, there was something different.  Rather than facing the fire they all were facing outward.  Facing another circle of souls standing shoulder to shoulder facing another and another.  In this momentary "picture", that for the moment, I did not understand, so many where at a fire all connected, all sharing, all setting intentions, and all mending the hoop.  A larger perspective in global healing.  So what does one do with that sort of picture?

The winds whispered, just hold your fire.  So I did.

Last evening, we held a Shakti Healing Fire Ceremony.  The outpouring has left my soul in awe and my being in tears.  Hundreds of souls set their intentions.  Hundreds asked for healing.  Hundreds determined to let go and burn the cords binding them.  Hundreds asked for others.  Entire families, one couple sharing vows this morning, apologies and forgiveness shared between some occurred as they read one another's intentions, and bridges begun.

I whispered to the winds, so many I need your help.

The Great Spirit hearing my whisper, sent forth an army of healers, Shaman, Medicine Wo/men, Reiki Masters, Energy workers, and Prayer Warriors to hold the space, carry the names, raise the energy, and stand shoulder to shoulder within the inner circle to begin mending the sacred hoop.  None asking what spiritual path is this for.  None asking where do you come from.  None asking what is your social economic status, nor what do you believe.  Everyone coming together as one in humanity - for the empowerment and healing of humanity.

Today, I am grateful for humanity.  For each and every soul that touched my own last evening.  For every healer that stepped forward and stood with me.  For the ancestors who stood behind us all to receive and carry the messages and intentions.  For the Great Spirit that watches over humanity.  I am grateful and I am hopeful for healing that has begun.

Keep the Change - Joanna Hackley Davis

I still haven’t figured out what it is about the word ‘change’ that triggers most people. For that matter, I haven’t figured out what it is in that word that triggers me. I know change is healthy. I know change has brought many LOVEly things into my life. I know that growth requires change, but I still resist it at times. As the Borg say, resistance is futile; here is the latest example:

I’ve been craving oysters since July. In the process of craving, I’ve been begging Greg to take me to the only oyster bar I’ve ever been to. I love the complete tackiness of the place! Wine comes in a mug with a handle, the whole bar is made of concrete so they can easily hose it down, the paint is peeling, and I wouldn't use the bathrooms on a dare. This would not be my first choice for fine dining, but the oysters are excellent, and the oddness of the decor inspired love at first bite.

We finally set a date for oysters. Just before we left the house, my darling Greg said, “How about we try that new place that just opened?” It was much closer to the house, in a much safer neighborhood, etc. Though my intuition whispered, “Yes,” I resisted the change.

“No! I want to go where we always go.” As much as I don’t like to give in, sometimes my inner toddler must have her way.

Thirty minutes and several questionable neighborhoods later, we arrived at ‘our’ oyster bar, the one with a boat protruding out the front. The sign proudly displayed 2-for-1 buckets in honor of their 61st Anniversary. “Oh, goody!” I chortled, “Great oysters AND a sale!” Greg didn’t share my enthusiasm, “The wait will be over an hour. Let’s go to Victorio’s.” My inner toddler wailed, “NOOOOO!” One look at his face told me that, ready or not, I was about to experience change.

The observer in me couldn’t help but grin as my inner toddler stomped back to the car, muttering, “Not fair! Not fair!”

An hour after we left the house, we arrived at Victorio’s. It was a wonderful example of going around my fist to get to my thumb. We were ten minutes from home.

The moment we walked in the door, we were enthusiastically greeted, “GREG! Is that you? Oh my goodness, how long has it been?” Our visit to a new place became old home week. Most of the staff knew Greg from other restaurants, and those who didn’t were quickly introduced to both of us. There was no wait, the buckets were on sale, the restrooms were immaculate, and the wine was served in a stemmed glass. My toddler was still grumbling about missing her Mug-O-Wine, but that didn’t last long. The oysters were heavenly and our shucker was relentlessly amusing.

We were their last customers of the night. The cook came from the kitchen to chat with Greg. He looked at me and said, “I know you from somewhere.” His face was not familiar to me, but his energy was comfortable, “Not this lifetime. It must be a past one.” He looked again and said, “Yes, that feels right.” Oh, yeah. This is home.

As we finished our dinner and prepared to leave, our shucker came to pick up the check.
Greg said, “Keep the change.”

My inner toddler and observer both giggled.

Thanks, Universe, I think I’ll do that.

Gratitude Month - Day 10 - Can I borrow a cup of sugar?

Do people really have neighbors that ask questions like that?  I would not have been able to answer that until recently.  I have lived in places where I have not had neighbors close enough to ask me such questions since I lived in Massachusetts.  Since I lived in Maine, my homes have always been situated so that I had no direct neighbors.  All that changed in the past couple of weeks.

Last evening, I was out running my dogs in the yard as I do every night, when I heard a voice calling my name from the other side of a fence.  At first I did not even focus on the fact they were calling my name and continued to play with my dogs.  When I became conscious it was me that was being called, I went to chat over the fence with my new neighbor.  She asked a question very much like "can I borrow a cup of sugar".  It struck me as odd not being use to neighbors.  After nearly an hour of chatting, we parted, both with smiles.

How neat is that?  I have not had someone call out "hey neighbor" before.  On the other side of me, another neighbor who has not moved in yet called my cell phone to ask me a question about their property.  The call ended with, see you in a few weeks.

I had said to someone about six months ago that I thought it would be a learning experience to live in a place with neighbors.  I have not moved but the Universe thought it was a good idea.  So today, I am grateful for neighbors who ask questions, chat about how fast the grass grows, and wave just to say hello.

*Side note - They have been invited to my Fire Ceremony this evening - building community was one of my personal intentions for the fire.

The Story of the Sacred Tree

Shared by Walking The Red Road
The Story of the Sacred Tree

“For all the people of the earth, the Creator has planted a Sacred Tree under which they may gather, and there find healing, power, wisdom and security. The roots of this tree spread deep into the body of Mother Earth. Its branches reach upward like hands praying to Father Sky. The fruits of this tree are the good things the Creator has given to the people: Teachings that show the path to love, compassion, generosity, patience, wisdom, justice, courage, respect, humility and many other wonderful gifts.

The Ancient Ones taught us that the life of the Tree is the life of the people. If the people wander far away from the protective shadow of the Tree, if they forget to seek the nourishment of its fruit or they should turn against the Tree and attempt to destroy it, great sorrow will fall upon the people. Many will become sick at heart. The people will lose their power. They will cease to dream dreams and see visions. They will begin to quarrel among themselves over worthless trifles. They will become unable to tell the truth and to deal with each other honestly. They will forget how to survive in their own land. Their lives will become filled with anger and gloom. Little by little, they will poison themselves and all they touch.

It was foretold that these things would come to pass, but that the Tree would never die. And as long as the Tree lives, the people live. It was also foretold that the day would come when the people would awaken, as if from a long, drugged sleep; that they would begin, timidly at first but then with great urgency, to search again for the Sacred Tree.

The knowledge of its whereabouts and of the fruits that adorn its branches have always been carefully guarded and preserved within the minds and hearts of our wise elders and leaders. These humble, loving and dedicated souls will guide anyone who is honestly and sincerely seeking along the path leading to the protecting shadow of the Sacred Tree.

The Story of the Sacred Tree is an Excerpt from The Sacred Tree, includes a forward by Dr. Jane Goodall, UN Messenger of Peace, and author of My Life with the Chimpanzees. The First Edition was published in 1984 by the Four Worlds International Institute (FWII) in 1984. Why the Birch Tree Wears the Slashes in It's Bark

This is a resharing of story once shared with me when became "ill tempered" as I was not standing rooted in my truth.

“Tonight I will tell you why the Birch Tree wears slashes in it’s bark.  The wind outside will help you understand.”  There was a great Northeaster wind that whipped across the forest this eve.  “Of course this all happened during the summertime when the wind was warm.  You know there are great winds that happen during the summertime as well.”

The storyteller went on, “It was a hot day and an old one was trying to sleep, but the heat had made him fall ill tempered.  The old one wandered to the hilltop to find the wind to cool the fever of ill temper but found no relief blowing.  The old one travelled to the forest, but there it was shady but the heat was oppressive.  The travelling had only served to increase the fever of emotion, but the old one would not stay still.

The old one called out to the winds to blow upon the earth.  The skies answered with a soft breeze.  The winds did not wish to blow harder for fear they would anger this old one.  But the old one cried out again.

“Blow harder.  Blow harder than ever before.  Blow to send this heat from the world.  Blow the heat from my body.”

The winds began to blow.  Blow harder than they had ever blown before across the earths.

The old one cried out “bend and break the Fir-Tree”.  The Fir-Tree began to bend and break it did.  The old one cried out “bend and break the Pine-Tree”.  The Pine-Tree began to bend and break it did.  “Bend and break the Spruce-Tree” and the Spruce-Tree did bend and did break.  The old one cried out “bend and break O Birch-Tree!”.  But the Birch-Tree did bend.  The Birch-Tree bent further and further, but would not break.

The old one cried out “Ho!  Birch-Tree hear me, bend and break I call to you.”  The Birch-Tree would bend but would not heed the call to break.  It bent to the ground.  It bent double to please the old one, but it would not break.

The old one cried out, “blow harder, wind.  Blow hard and break the Birch-Tree!  Heed to my cry!”  The wind blew harder, and whipped across the trunk of the Birch-Tree, yet it could not break its will.  The old one became angry and screamed out to the Birch-Tree, “Break!  I command you – break!”

The old Birch-Tree whispered in the wind “I won’t break; I shall never break for any wind.  I will bend, but I shall never, ever break.”

Hearing the whispers in the wind, the old one rushed towards the Birch-Tree with a great knife, “You won’t heed to the winds or to my call,” the old one grabbed the top of the Birch-Tree as it was bent to the ground and began to slash upon it.  Slashing over and over again until the old Birch-Tree was covered with the slashes from the great knife.

“This is for not heeding to my call.  For not heeding the winds.  You are marked as one who will not mind its maker.  All the Birch-Trees in all the world shall have the same marks forever as the rule breaker, the one who stands rooted to the ground in his own truth.”

"'You won't, hey?' cried OLD-man, and he rushed at the Birch-Tree with his hunting knife. He grabbed the top of the Birch because it was touching the ground, and began slashing the bark of the Birch-Tree with the knife. All up and down the trunk of the tree OLD-man slashed, until the Birch was covered with the knife slashes.

Applachian Trail / Maine Wilderness - Cool Roots At Hurd Brook
This golden birch tree near Hurd Brook either been undermined by erosion or perhaps simply had a very strange growth pattern. In any event, the roots have formed a complex set of "legs" that seem about to spirit it away.

This is the story of the slashes behind the Birch-Tree and why it remains as a sacred reminder for both the ill tempered winds and the importance of standing rooted to the ground in your own truth.

Gratitude Month - Day 9 - Eternal Flame of Love

This morning, as most mornings, I went to meditation at 4 am to connect with the sacred fire.  There is something magical about early morning meditation.  As I was in meditation this morning connecting with the flame that ignites my soul, I kept hearing mantra's that were shared with me sometime ago.

These were mantra's that were shared with me by another.  Though I have never attended a seminar of his, nor have I gone to a workshop where he has spoken, Agni is a teacher of my soul.  Many of you know him from the weekly message that I share.  My journey was blessed deeply when my path crossed with Agni.

From the energy of his healing of the physical body, to the deep conversation sharing his wisdom, and the journey to the origin of my own creation, the experience of my own journey has been blessed by Agni.

There were times this past year when I had more questions than answers.  Spending a quiet afternoon in deep conversation, Agni patiently shared the  path to allow me to find my own truths.  Whether it has been sharing of his own Sacred Fire, gifting healing energy for my own physical body, or simply a late afternoon lunch as friends, my life is enriched and blessed with the friendship and love.

Back to my morning meditation, these mantra's shared are much like a koan.  Ones that can emerge with answers of the soul when the student works with them.  I emerged this morning with yet another soul answer, a soul truth.  for that I am externally grateful.

I am humbled and honored to Agni friend and teacher.  All my love and soul filling gratitude ... mwah

Message From the Fire: Members Needed: Are You Ready To Change The World

As I was contemplating how to share this first message from the fire, I received an email from my middle daughters university.  The subject line read "Members Needed:  Are You Ready To Change The World".   Of course, as I sat here trying to complicate the crap out of the message I received to share, I had to pause and go read the email.

The first line ... "Do you have a passion for helping others?"

I had to really stop now and look back at the email header, was this really from my daughters college?  It was and I won't go into the rest of the email, but rather share with you an experience.  When I went to the fire, I had a personal request before I asked what I should share this week.  That personal request was for more than whispers in the winds answers, a concrete sign that I was "doing the pictures" the way the Universe had in mind for me to do them.  I share often with those I am honored to work with, be careful of what you ask for - you might just get it.  The email was yet another example of signs that come to us when we are open to receive them.  Back to the message received.

As it was given to me:

The soul of the world is wounded.  The sacred hoop of life is broken.   The way to healing is through the roots of the tree to grow deep and expand across the lands in a sacred hoop connecting one to the other.  The only way to hear the song of the tree is through our listening to her whispers.   There are many paths the roots may follow, each coming to grow on its own; yet, part of the whole.  Each soul is an expression of truth.  It is when that soul stands with courage and strength to express itself in the roots of its own tree that the soul of the world will begin its healing.  The seeds have been sown.  The rains have allowed them to germinate.  The branches still are tender, but they are beginning to wake and share whispers with all across the globe.  The roots entwine with one another, just as soul families entwine.  They come together to serve one another, even when it appears on the outside they are not entwined.  Each soul is created from love and will root in love when it is nurtured and cared for.  This is true for the soul of the world as well.  It is time to mend the sacred hoop and nurture the roots, for it is here we will find peace, harmony, and love.

From my sacred fire to you, blessings and mwah.

* To extend our service/gifts also to people in financial difficulty without denying them of the joy of giving through paying-it-forward in other non-monetary means.

Gratitude Month - Day 8 - Best Friends

We all have that one person in our lives that it just there.  There when you need to cry, laugh, celebrate, mourn, giggle, vent, support, nurture, and no matter what listen.  They are our best friends, our soul sisters/brothers.  I have one of those too.

Donna R. is that non judgmental ear, that goofy friend that makes me laugh even when I don't want to, and seems to know exactly when I need a call.  Though we do not live next door and we can not share that first cup of morning coffee, she is by far the one who taught me it is okay to have a friend without barriers, limitations, and boundaries.

We have shared births, deaths, loves, hurts, families, fears, hopes, dreams, and visions.  Sometimes all in one conversation.  She inspires me daily.  Infuses me with a love of life.  I could write volumes on the gifts she gives to me and to the world with her generous and loving heart.

Today, I celebrate the overwhelming gratitude that I have for being gifted Donna as my best friend.    Donna I just love you girlfriend and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being my friend.  I can not wait for our visit here shortly !!!  mwah

Gratitude Month Day 7 - Robin Rice

Oftentimes, the desire for change rumbles in the backs of our minds, or at the depth of our souls, for a long time before we know what it's all about. That kind of discontent is leading somewhere, and I've learned to trust it. It is best not try to fight it, or eradicate it, or fix it... just let it grow until it blossoms into the something it is intending!  Robin Rice

As I contemplate this past year, looking at those in my path that have made a profound impact, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for Robin Rice.  Teacher, guide, peer, sister, and friend.  It is always amazing how the Universe works to me.  Robin has touched my soul in ways that words can not describe.

I have believed in the cross cultural exchange of paths in order to build the bridges to unification of All - as we are all related.  Yet, the exchange process from the ancient to the contemporary seemed clouded and bound to limitation.  The words of contemporary Shaman Robin Rice, the teachings, the gift of friendship has been a catalyst into discovering a path.

My life has been enriched by watching Robin not only speak words of "changing the world", but by walking her walk.  By not waiting to be invited to change lives, but by engaging and "doing the pictures".  It is not often that you are given the gift of invitation to not only stand as a sacred witness to the engagement, but are invited to participate in the engagement.  Robins invitation to engage the flow, to walk in two worlds beside, and to carry the "pictures" to reality has been an experience.

I am eternally grateful for the friendship, for the teaching, and for the deep soul connection of sisterhood.  Today I celebrate contemporary Shaman Robin Rice.  Thank you ...

Vibe From The Sky with Laurissa Heller 11/6/11

Week of November 6, 2011

The fire that we have been building over the last two weeks may feel like it has been temporarily damped.  Mars is in a trine with Pluto and Jupiter, both of which are in Earth energy.  This slows down our process which is actually a gift, so receive it with open arms.  We have been traveling at warp speed and will continue to, so when the Universe offers a moment of slow motion we need to be grateful.  By no means is the process going to stop.  We just need to figure out where we are going to steer the ship.  There will be another voice saying, "I know, I know which way to go--there is a big opening this way."  Be mindful of this energy at this juncture.  This is impulsive energy that loves to jump from one idea to the next.  While you keep the motion moving forward, allow the process to slow down, even it makes you feel like you are standing in the middle of hot coals.  The coals are merely burning off all excess layers which will not be needed for the remaining part of your journey.  Take a breath and know, you are not alone.  Although you may not see The Tribe all around you, we walk this journey together.

Laurissa Heller's mission is to enhance people's awareness in their own lives so they are able to live to their fullest potential.  Her philosophy is that by taking care of ourselves and recharging our own batteries we are better able to assist the people who are in our lives and extend that energy into the environment as well.

Laurissa offers Astrology Guidance and is an Educator of Conscious Living and Yoga Meditation Teacher (500 Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher) and has been practicing yoga and meditation for nearly a decade.

Where there is a will, there is a way

A retelling of an Aesop Fable.

It was a very hot summer day.  The sun's rays were being felt by a crow as he soared the skies in search of water to quench his parched beak.  Alas, he paused to rest upon a branch of a tree unable to find water.  As the crow was scanning the horizon, he dropped his beak only to see a pitcher sitting beneath the branches.
Flying down full of joy upon seeing there was water within the pitcher.  He dipped his beak into the pitcher but the water was too low for him to reach.  He thought and thought perched upon the rim.  A sun's beam caught the reflection of a single pebble.  The crow thought of a plan.
One by one, he dropped pebbles into the pitcher.  With each pebble, the level of the water within the pitcher rose and rose until finally his short beak could reach the water.  His thirst quenched he flew across the skies.
Moral: Where there is a will, there is a way.

Gratitude Month - Day 6 - Relationships

(Simon Simonian "Soul Mate")

This morning, as every morning, I got up to spend time in quiet prayer and meditation.  This morning as I went outside, my husband joined me.  The brisk air felt  as we were interrupted by a neighbor taking an early morning walk.  She paused to share good morning and the news of the small community that we live in.

It struck me how many types of relationship that I am blessed to have.  How many different people that are such an integral part of my life.  From day to day acquaintances, to family, to close friends, to the tribes that are a part of my soul journey.

It would take years to thank a single relationship that I currently have each day.  But today, I want to celebrate and share how grateful I am for my husband.  We have been together now since 1989 - more than half my life. We have had some really rough spots but in the end we have remained together in a relationship that grows, breathes, and expands.  We have had some really incredible experiences as well.  Each experience has changed the relationship.

Many, many years ago it was suggested to me to write out an ideal relationship list during an experience that was not so incredible.  This was a list of what I see an ideal relationship as.  Any relationship.  Things such as playful, communication, loving were on the list.  Each time that a rough spot has been encountered since, I return to this list and ask myself am I being playful?  Am I communicating?  Am I being loving?  These questions have allowed me to work on not only my marriage but every relationship that I have.  I ask am I working towards these ideals or away from them?  The amazing gift, my husband has his own list and he asks himself the same questions.  Our lists are different, yet, the ideals in the end remain the same.

So today, I am extremely grateful to my husband and for the relationship that we have.
