Listening to nature. It is amazing what you can hear when you listen. Watch the signs in front of you.
Yesterday, was an exceptional day. I started the morning by being greeted for the second day in a row with seven frogs lined up at the end of my carport. Lined up as if they were waiting to share some secret message. We stood there and stared at one another for over three minutes. I don’t speak frog. The first thought in my mind was the old Budweiser commercial (sorry that is the truth). I was waiting for them to each say some sort of syllable that I could understand. Nope. All they did was stare at me.
I had to laugh at myself as I thought about how odd it would seem to others that I got down in a crouching position to try and get closer to hear them. Speaking to them as though they were going to reply back.
Later in the day, as is typical for this time of the year here in Florida, the skies began to speak. I was sitting outside on my bench beneath the cypress tree covering when a hummingbird landed on the other end of the bench. It just sat there and stared at me. I don’t speak hummingbird. I did relish in the visit of this beautiful bird. Then the thunder rolled it. I just sat there watching the tiny bird listening to the skies. Thunder has always held a fascination for me. It always has seemed that it was the “Gods” speaking a message. Today was no different.
I got really frustrated at this point as it felt as though the thunder was yelling at me to listen. As much as I tried to ‘listen’ nothing profound was coming through. I don’t speak thunder.
Last evening I was out on my porch having a discussion with my teenage daughter. I was trying to understand her frustrations as I listened to her vent about situations in her life. Suddenly she was screaming at the top of her lungs, jumping up and down, and nearly pushed me over trying to get in the house. Blinking for a moment to fully comprehend what her sudden outburst was about.
Then I saw it. Beneath my altar dedicated to nature on the porch was a four foot bright orange snake. It’s head lifted up as it stared at me (I am sure startled by the screams of my daughter). Still unsure of what that little limerick is that tells you if a snake is poisonous or not, I was not real sure about what to do. I stared back at the snake for a minute. Something inside telling me this was not a normal snake. I don’t speak snake. My son and husband literally ‘swept’ the snake off the porch with a swifter.
As I went into meditation last night, it struck me how many signs from nature that came into my path in a single day. Yet, I really had no idea what they meant. Seven frogs, a hummingbird, thunder, and a snake. Were they separate messages? Were they a story being told? These were the questions in my meditation.
I realized at some point that they were messages and they were a story. Each having a special message, each having a story, and each intertwined.
Sometimes it is easy to ignore or miss those signs from nature when they speak to us. They whisper so softly that we miss them. When we slow down enough to pay attention to the details around us, to the animals that cross our paths, to the skies speaking, and take the time to reflect upon them, the profound wisdom is available.
So today I will pay attention and listen, even when I don’t speak the language. The language of the heart comes through loud and clear. It cross all language borders and is translated in ways that you may not even begin to imagine. I thank the Universe for the frogs, the hummingbirds, the thunder, and the snakes in my life today and for the messages they bring.

Cycles of Life and Blank Pages
Everything in life happens in cycles. From the moon cycles to the season cycles. As I approach the ending of the summer cycle, I find that my own life is shifting and ending its own cycle.
Ending a cycle always comes with an amount of grief as you let go. Yet, it is filled with excitement of what lies ahead in the new cycle. My belly button birthday is within a month and thus always coincides with the ending of summer. It is interesting to reflect back over the past year of life here on Earth and ascertain the lessons learned, the gifts given, and the grief of losses.
Reflecting back to this time last year, I was anticipating some dramatic changes, shifts if you will. Anticipating gifts. Anticipating blessings. Anticipating lessons. As I take an inventory through walking the Medicine Wheel of my Inner Self, I realize that the anticipations felt were far underestimated (as they always are).
Tallying up the score card is easy. The gifts are far greater in number than the losses. So why is it that human nature reflects on the losses far more than the gifts when looking back?
I am reminded of a statement a very wise man said, every day is like a new blank page. You have the choice of whether to look back in previous chapter and just continue on bringing forward yesterday or you can start with a new blank page and a whole new chapter.
This is my conclusion. The last page in the chapter. I have no real outline for the next few chapters, but I have plenty of blank paper.

Changes
I am working on putting links to the articles I have written over the years on various subjects in the Pages Section. Stay tuned for more changes!!
Expanding New Horizons: Divine Light and The Fire of Creation
As I spent time in deep meditation with the holy time of the high full moon last evening, words from a story came flooding back into my consciousness. As the words flooded my memories another door opened. Another gateway to pass through. Each time a gateway is given, there are responsibilities that come within crossing it. There is a saying that knowledge is either full of life else it is lifeless. Knowledge that is full of life creates, breathes, and flows. Although some of what transpired is like the spiral, I promised to share the expansion of all horizons with you.
The spiral is always expanding and contracting at the same moment. It is a surrender and release, yet an awareness of the Divine within the context of the whole. It is a connectivity with the Divine and Cosmic energies through a revolution of time. Difficult to state in words, but easily understood when experienced.
It is said often that everything is in Divine Order. Life is full of gifts, even though we do not always comprehend them as gifts. In the past week many of these 'gifts' have been placed in my life. Many of the situations and gifts presented were baffling to my human comprehension.
I was given a slight glimpse into the lack of comprehension of these 'gifts' so that I could understand and release them completely.
Divine Light can reconcile humanity into a unification of the dualities currently present in all of life. All healing of the reconciliation begins with unifying yourself with the Divine Light which is the pure essence of life. This Divine light is the fire of all creation. It will bring an equilibrium to unstable world around us.
The unstable world has a duality within it. Healing must begin within uniting the duality of our own hearts through the unconditional love that the Divine gifts. It is through this Divine love that a single soul will unite. Through this unification even the duality of the Sun and Moon will unify under the fire of creation. The Universal energy of the cosmos will stream into the soul. The creation fire brings energy from the stars and the cosmic fire of creation down to earth. It works within the currents of both the Heavens and Earths to fill the spaces and create a sacred unity. The currents upon the Earth today are unbalanced and out of harmony. It is only when there is spiritual unity that the world can be filled with goodwill, peace, harmony and love.
It begins when one being reaches out to the Divine Light, to the very fire of creation, and begins to heal the spirit and soul. Begins to reconcile the duality within and unifies themselves with the Divine Light. When one being does this, it creates a unification that ripples outward spreading its flame. The unification creates a stream of energy that pulsates and expands. As it expands, each being unites with others creating higher and higher vibrations. It is then that the healing of the unstable world around us begins.
Each morning, each of us must cleanse our body, souls, and minds in order to be empty to receive the stream of energy from the Divine Light. The Creation fire from the cosmos purifies the spirit when it is brought within. It purifies the soul so that nothing but a Divine Love streams within. Each being falls into the traps of duality, by first cleansing each morning, it allows for a new fire to begin each day.
This duality that exists within each of us is a dark and light energy balance. It is only when the dark energy is accepted and acknowledge that it can be unified. This dark energy is truly only a symbolic metaphor of the limited consciousness that each of us in humanity have. In unifying the energies within through the creation fire, the balance begins. In this unification we begin to recognize our true selves. Our true selves is full of Divine Love and compassion.
It is important to remember that you can not change the fate of others, however, it is vital that you fulfill your own destiny. If you do not fulfill your own destiny you will take on the fates of those others through guilt and it will become part of your own fate changing your destiny. Thus unification has to be individual by each being before the unification to reconcile humanity can occur.
The gifts received are a symbolic unification of my own duality within. Each one, though perhaps unable to comprehend fully, can be seen as a symbol of the dualities that exist within all. Dualities that must be released without judgment. Released in faith that all things are truly in Divine Order. Release within the knowledge that the Fire of Creation will bring to Light all.
I awoke this morning to wander outside wanting to ground from the travels of the night. Sitting there in my path were seven frogs in a line as though they were waiting for me to come to visit. Every experience, every moment is a gift. Even though we do not recognize the gift or understand it, it is vital to acknowledge them. Vital to accept them. Vital to not judge them as good or bad - but rather just are.
Today, I thank the Divine for these gifts. I welcome and relish the Fire of Creation within. And savour the streams of cosmic energy that flows abundantly.
May your path be blessed as my wishes are heartfelt.

The Responsibilities of Receiving Gifts
Reposting a blog post from a few months ago that I needed to read again.
I have shared with a number of people recently that the greatest lesson I had learned during a recent shamanic trip to an Organic Farm up north was to ‘always remain receptive to what I need to learn and change within.’ Yesterday, I was faced with a situation that tested whether I had learned the lesson. It tested whether I would be actively engaged energetically in an experience or simply be a spectator. It was tested whether I would let go or put my claw marks on it holding on. It tested my knowing and seeing all the ripples of the consequences of the situation from both sides of the perspectives - participating or standing still as a spectator. To see whether I would step into the rapids and allow the flow to swiftly move me along.
I was not given hours to contemplate over my choices; it was seconds. It was not until the situation had passed that I had the ability to contemplate on my choice. To contemplate whether I made the right one in the moment to become engaged energetically in the experience. Upon my reflection, “I" decided that I did not handle the situation properly. The I could have - should have game began. I lived in the moment. I let go completely in some respects - yet in others I grasped tightly. Even as I tried to see only what was absolutely essential rather than what I perceived, I was seeing a concrete block being dropped. Not some pebble in the water. The question remained for me ‘did I pass the test’?
There are many times that we are selves see things skewed. Our perceptions are simply that our perceptions. Even when you can see ripples, it is not possible to see the far reaching affects of the ripples. I am blessed to have many in my life to turn to with such contemplatives to ask for guidance. The guidance I was given was ‘You have a tendency to run with premature deduction’.
I am struck with that statement. Many times in life we see the ripple that is the result of our decision. We see the next twenty four hours or perhaps even the next week. Rarely do we as human spirits looks at the moments in our life and see what the ripple effect will be for a life time or even longer. As I was typing today, a commercial came on the television. It began with a young man on a train platform. He looks up and sees a beautiful woman on the train. His life fast forwards and he sees this is a MOMENT. Changes train tickets on his phone and rushes on board to sit beside the woman he saw. How profound of a commercial. He saw the ripple of a simple action. He became actively engaged energetically and his destiny changed. All in a matter of seconds. Just a commercial - or is it?
The ability to see with my heart the truth of what is absolutely essential verse what my perception or deductions are of the situation is the real test. The real test of faith in the flow of life. The gravity of stepping through a gateway was the real lesson. With gifts of elders, the Universe, Nature, and Divine Spirit come great responsibility.
A responsibility that is not to be taken lightly nor casually. One that is to be taken with respect, honoring the sacredness, and humbleness. Not of life, but of the moments during life.
