There are times in both a man’s life and a woman’s life that we feel a calling or a need to see the feminine side of the Divine. The Divine in nature is both male energy and female energy in perfect balance. It is essential to the overall spiritual health of a soul to identify with the sacredness within that is feminine in nature. This allows for healing, empowerment, and solace at times of need. At this time when we all are embracing the earth form, it is important to become even more aware of this feminine energy.
In ancient times, the Goddess form was in a close rapport with her very nature. The sense that all things were sacred was held in reverence. The feminine truth as transformation at is basic essence. The Tibetan called her Tara, the Chinese called her Kwan Yin, the Indian called her Shakti, and Hebrew called her Lilith. The Native American culture referred to her as “changing woman” and “White Buffalo Woman”. Kali is the Goddess of Fire and in the untamed part of you. This is the part that no one can own and holds the flowers that bloom to the volcanoes that erupt. She is the wildlife nature that resides in every female. She is the force of nature that holds the spark of the fire.
Meditation is not ever to tame the fire but to set you free. Kali assists one to rejoice in the primal energy of every female. She dances to the primitive drum beat and breathes the fire when the call of the wild beast is needed. It is a craving and aching that happens deep within the soul – the cauldron.
The cauldron of the soul is really an alchemical vessel that allows for the transformation dance to occur. It is this cauldron that holds the fires of creation and the pyre to roar with the passionate flames. Every meditation with Kali is a bonfire of the heart to fuel passion within.
Inhale deeply and allow your entire being to be filled with pure energy and exhale fully. Put on music that resonates with your soul. Feel the beat deep in your soul. Allow the music to fill you. Begin to match your breath with the beat and feeling it evokes. Let the urge to dance take over your entire body. Move to the rhythm allowing the music and the soul to control. Inhale deeply as you feel the flames of the bonfire within spark and flare. As you exhale allow the primal echoes to escape. Let the energy build and build like a volcano ready to explode. Allow every part of your body, mind and spirit to become free. To become wild. Stomp the ground and stomp your feet, surrender to the bonfire. Surrender to the passion. Surrender to the wild beast.
After ten or so minutes, begin to slow your pace to a more fluid softer movement. Inhale deeply and hold the awareness of the beat within the cauldron of your soul. Consciously bring yourself to a stillness allowing yourself to savor in the ecstatic energy pulsating and circulating through your body. Close your eyes to see the image of the wild beast that fuels your desires.
In your journal, write about the wild beast. Write about the passion felt. Write about the new awareness. What new insights does this create for you? Can you feel the fire within?
